In London, Mr Kumar Kunasingam is dually qualified in Sports Medicine and as an Orthopedic Surgeon. His subspecialist interest is in Foot and Ankle conditions. In-house, MRI facilities ensure an in-depth and rapid management of any concern.

In Aberdeen, Professor Francis Smith is a Sports Medicine Clinician as well as an expert in MRI imaging. Our in-house sonographer, Ingrid Yuile, previously a competitive sportsperson, carries out detailed ultrasounds of muscles, tendons and joints as well as ultrasound guided injections.

    World-renowned MRI pioneer Professor Smith has joined the Roc Aberdeen team in July 2016; with his background undoubtedly making an outstanding contribution to the Radiology and Sports Medicine department. He pioneered the clinical application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), starting the world’s first clinical trial of MRI in 1980 and the world’s first diagnostic MRI service at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in 1981. In addition to being a Consultant Radiologist specializing in Musculoskeletal Radiology, with a MRI practice in London, he is also a qualified Sports Medicine Physician.

    Laura Court is a bona fide Dietitian and Fitness Instructor. At ROC Clinic, Laura undertakes general nutrition and dietetic consultations, sports specific nutritional advice and is an integral part of the Fibromyalgia Service we provide. She is also a member of the British Dietetic Association and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

    He played college rugby and hockey at a high level and still plays club hockey when family time allows. This passion for sport nurtured his interest and qualification in Sports Medicine after completing his Orthopaedic training. On his return to the UK from Australia, he also completed a second fellowship in trauma surgery at King's College Hospital, a UK major trauma centre.

    Ingrid's Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) from the University of Sydney ignited her passion for studying anatomy. This lead her to a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from Monash University so she could continue to learn and marvel at the phenomenal machine that is the human body.
