Professional Profile and Experience
Laura Court is a bona fide Dietitian and Fitness Instructor.
At ROC Clinic, Laura undertakes general nutrition and dietetic consultations, sports specific nutritional advice and is an integral part of the Fibromyalgia Service we provide.
She is a member of the British Dietetic Association and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Laura has been working as a dietician since 2008 after graduating from the Robert Gordon University in 2007 with a 2:1 in Nutrition & Dietetics, followed by a Masters in Type 2 Diabetes from The University of Nottingham. Prior to that she worked in the health and fitness industry for 4 years.
For Laura, Health & Fitness are not just a career choice, but also a lifestyle. Her passion in the field extends to her sharing accrued expertise via her blog on the Dietaryfit Facebook page. There, Laura is able to advise on fitness plans and provide guidance to help clients meet their training goals. She also shares information on diet, exercise and healthy eating recipes.
Outside ROC, she works as a community dietitian for both adults and children and as a paediatric dietitian at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. She has a wide variety of clinical experience and has worked in a variety of clinical areas, which allows her to assess and manage different medical conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and obesity.
Outside work, Laura is a fitness enthusiast who participates in running, cycling, swimming and resistance training. She has completed two marathons and plans to train for the half Ironman in the future. She also enjoys travelling and has backpacked around Australia.
