Professional Profile and Experience
Dr Claudia (Carmaciu) Pastides is a family doctor with a passion for health promotion, continuous education and use of social media to promote awareness, encourage patient engagement and increase the spread of good quality health messages.
Dr Claudia graduated from University College of London Medical School in 2009. She is a member of the Royal College of GPs and whilst training as a GP she spent time working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the 2nd busiest maternity unit in the UK. This, combined with her training in other areas of medicine reinforced her dedication as a family physician with a focus on woman and child health.
Dr Claudia is very approachable and well known for making her patients, both children and adults, feel incredibly at ease during consultations. English is her first language but she is also consulting in Romanian, her native language.
At ROC, Dr Claudia consults patients of all ages, with a focus on child and woman’s health. As well as consultations she provides 1:1 child health and first aid training for parents and carers of children, and personalized courses to suit the health needs of all families.
Her dedication to continuous professional development is clear. Recognising the issues healthcare professionals face in managing childcare and keeping updated with the latest medical advances, Dr Claudia set up PLUSBaby seminars – a highly popular series of training events aimed at doctors on maternity or paternity leave. As a mother of 3 children under the age of 5, she understands all too well not just the concerns and common problems that can come up in pregnancy and childhood but also the issues parents face in caring for their children.
When not at work, caring or baking for her family Dr Claudia may be found on a tennis court, having previously been women’s tennis captain for all of the London medical schools and president of UCL medical school tennis club.
